A Look at Nissan’s Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program

If you’re considering a pre-owned vehicle, then Nissan’s certified pre-owned program (CPO) is definitely a good reason to consider a Nissan. Nissan’s CPO covers your car for 72 months or 120,000 kilometres from its original in-service date – that is to say from the date the vehicle was originally sold. Considering the average Canadian drives about 25,000 km a year, you can rest assured that cars with, say, 2-3 years on the clock still have plenty of warranty room.

Over 600 powertrain components are covered by your CPO Nissan’s warranty for that same 72 month/120,000 km period, so there are very few problems that your warranty won’t cover. Of course, if you want even more peace-of-mind, you can option a Security+ Plus plan that covers 1,900 components.

Speaking of peace-of-mind: In order to earn CPO status, every Nissan vehicle that arrives for pre-owned sale is put through a rigorous 169-point inspection from a certified Nissan technician. The tech then uploads any findings – the inspection covers everything form the body frame, to the differential, to the HVAC system and much more -- to a digital vehicle history report that covers any accidents or service activities the vehicle has undergone. Only then can the vehicle become part of the CPO program.

Of course, with a CPO vehicle – as is the case with any vehicle – keeping your oil fresh and healthy is crucial to the longevity of your engine. To help instill even more confidence in the CPO buyer, Nissan includes a two-year, 32,000 km no-charge oil change plan for 2016 or newer model year vehicles sold in Canada. Not having to pay for oil for two years? Talk about a bonus!

The final piece to the CPO puzzle involves roadside assistance. Your CPO plan will cover car rental for 10 days while your car is in dealer service, and will also assist when it comes to towing for repairs covered by warranty.

Thinking pre-owned? Think Nissan certified pre-owned.
